Now that the Christmas and New Year's festivities are behind us, looking through the Tarvinonline events calendar for January there are plenty of activities taking place throughout the village.

For instance, there is Music at St Andrew's Church this Friday, 8th January, with a return performance by Geoff Woollatt, Assistant Director of Music at Manchester Cathedral.

Today, at Tarvin Methodist Church is Art in the Afternoon, starting at 1.30.

On Tuesday 12th Tarvin Mahjong Club's 2016 season starts at a new time of 10.00am at Tarvin Community Centre, and the new evening sessions commence at 6.30 on the 21st of January.

The Civic Trust has an open meeting at The Community Centre starting at 7.30 on the 12th January, with Peter Boughton who will give a talk on Picturesque Chester – The City in Art.

On Thursday 14th OPAL services resume their fortnightly Go Online sessions, helping you to "Get Online". These sessions are held at the Community Centre starting at 10.00am.

Friday 15th January is the start of the Tarvin Village Quiz at the Community Centre, which will see 12 local teams competing to win the Shield, with the finals on the 22nd January.

On the 27th January Tarvin W.I. new season starts at 7.30 at the Community Centre and the Speaker will be Sue Hardacre – Fiji the way the world should be.

Finally, on the 29th January is Friday Film Night at Tarvin Community Centre when the film will be "Spectre."
