Countess of Chester Country Park.

Friends of Countess of Chester Country Park are inviting everyone to join them for their free Picnic in the Park event this Saturday 5th August, from 11am until 3pm.

The events include:

11:15am Bioblitz — discover what's living right on our doorstep by joining our wildlife survey.

11.30am Nordic Walking taster session.

11.30am Junk Drumming using everyday objects

12.00am Time to enjoy your picnic in the park.

1:00pm Story of the Park — the history, the development and the plans for the future.

1:00pm Pond Dipping

1.30pm RSPB Bird Walk and Bioblitz with binoculars and an expert guide.

2.00am Nordic Walking taster session.

2.15am Junk Drumming

2.45am Drawing competition winner announced

Throughout the day you can also get hands on with history at the Viking camp, a Chester Zoo Safari Ranger will be porviding some amazing biofacts, or explore the woodland walk and learn more about nature. There will be stalls from RSPB, Friends of the Earth, Keep Britain Tidy, The Conservation Volunteers and Chester Link, and of course there will be have Hyacinth the Ice Cream van with handmade real dairy ice cream.

All FREE to join in and everyone is welcome.

NB: Activities and stalls will be located in the middle of the park, but the event will move to Arkell Scouting and Community Centre, Upton Grange, if it is raining

Last Friday night a group of teenagers...not from this development.... broke down virtually all the young trees in the little childrens' playground on the Saxon Heath TW development.The residents of the development will now have to pay additional fees to the ground maintenance company that looks after the public areas of the development (Something the LA should be doing!!!-...

Half way through, and how many gnomes have you found?Its been wonderful watching so may people walking around the village, trying to find the most elusive of the 76 gnomes.
