For their June meeting 30 members met for a visit to Bluebell Cottage Gardens.
The owner, Sue Beesley, has been to speak at a meeting in the past and told us about buying the nursery after she won "Gardener of the Year" 11/12 years ago. The business has progressed over the years and is now a thriving nursery with a lovely garden alongside.
The garden is all herbaceous plants and has year round interest.
The evening was warm and dry but with little sun. Sue accompanied us around the garden explaining how they had progressed and improvements they had made. She is so busy with the nursery now that she is short of gardening time.
Many of us bought plants and received instructions on the best planting spot for them before going to enjoy the tea/coffee and cake – very nice.
We must thank Charles Bradley for organising the enjoyable evening outing and for arranging the transport.
