"Last night in the Community Centre, Ashton Hayes Theatre Club presented "Last Tango/Panto in Tarvin" to a select first night audience. The production is a play within a play about a play (don't ask, the cast get confused as well!). The night was full of "belly laughs" and the audience went home having enjoyed a play which extracts its humour from Tarvin and local characters. Alan Wilkinson, Community Centre Chairman, who attended the Dress Rehearsal, said it was the funniest thing he had seen for a long time and hoped that people would take advantage to escape the real world for a couple of hours.

Come along and put a smile on your face."

Stuart McNeil (Alias Gordon of the Tarvin Thespians)

Ashton Hayes Theatre Club are happy to welcome award-winning director Malcolm Barker to direct this hilarious romp about a struggling drama group, the fictitious Tarvin Thespians. The Chairman has written a play in the hope of bringing back the audiences. He knows there is only one way to get bums on seats in Tarvin and that's with a play that will tickle their fancies! It's all innocent fun but because of its outstanding success he decides to follow it with a pantomime on a similar theme. Just as hilarious and twice as ridiculous.

Travellers of all kinds have used Platts Lane for thousands of years. On foot was the major form of passage but also on horseback, on small carts or in carriages, as well as packhorses and farm animals. In recent times it was even proposed to build a road through this historic place. How could a council imagine this was a good idea?Thankfully, it remains a quiet by-way for walkers, cyclists...
