Do you have nimble fingers? Do you enjoy making things? There will be a chance to learn a new craft skill at the Community Centre in May if sufficient interest is shown. Heather Love, who runs the very successful Mahjong classes, is offering the opportunity to learn Tunisian/Afghan style crocheting.

Heather says "This type of work is a cross between Crochet and Knitting. Some consider it to be easier than crochet but it creates a stronger and more stable stitch than knitting. You use a single hook like a crochet hook but it is longer and has a knitting needle like stopper at the end. You can also use round crochet hooks so that you can crochet in the round and produce, mittens, socks etc. with no seams. This way of crocheting can be used for almost anything from jumpers, scarves, place mats to socks. There are many different stitches to learn so you could never get bored."

Heather will supply the needle but you must bring along your own double knitting wool.

If you would like to learn then do give Heather a ring on 01829 741598 and she will tell you all the details.
