Sunday Night (26/04/15) at 20:11 eye witnesses saw a meteorite over Tarvin!
This was reported to be very different to the usual, but spectacular, shooting star. Instead, it was travelling relatively slowly over the village, at about the same speed as a rocket drops on bonfire night. It was really difficult to get an appreciation of the size but it was large enough to light up the sky. It then broke up into many smaller pieces before hitting the ground.
The UK Meteor Network reported sightings as far as Dublin and Bute.
