Today, 5th May, 6 members of Ashton Hayes and Tarvin flower club met to make small posies for distribution in Tarvin and Oscroft to celebrate Flower Arranging Day. We made 13 in all and, following on from the phenomenal success of the Lonely Bouquet campaign, we will place them on benches in various parts of the area. They have a label attached which asks for comments and pictures, and to know where the posy finds a home. The pictures show the members working on the flowers.
As another initiative the Flower club will be buying the flowers and making the bouquet for the Village Fete queen on 18th June. This is our way of celebrating the 90th Birthday of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth 11.
On Wednesday 11th May we have our monthly demonstration with, I understand, a very entertaining florist from Anglesey. 7-30 pm is the starting time in the Edna Rose room at the Community Centre.
