new board

The Parish Council is currently responsible for 3 notice boards within the parish. There is a specific Parish Council noticeboard on the wall next to the Red Lion Car Park, and the Parish Council also provide the general noticeboard next to it. There is also a notice board on Oscroft Common. It was suggested that there might be a noticeboard provided on the new Saxon Heath Estate. Such a board could carry messages about all local activities, church, Community Centre, sports events as well as Parish Council news. It would be unlocked and open to all.

The Parish Council hopes that the new residents of the estate can give them some feedback. The main question is, are noticeboards useful reminder about village activities, or do most people find out what is going on through the internet and social media? Would the expense of such a board – probably quite modest – be worth the money?
Please contact the Clerk on 01829 741075 or miketarvinparish@aol.com. You can also add your comments below or on the Facebook page of Tarvinonline. Alternatively you can speak to Councillor Larry Holmes who lives on the estate on 740564.

The question was also raised about the provision of rubbish bins on the estate. At the moment the land is still in the ownership of Taylor Wimpey, but as soon as it is handed over to CW&C, i.e 'adopted', then these issues will be raised again. In the meantime the Parish Council would like to thank the residents of Gerard Close who have been keeping an eye on the children's play area and keeping it rubbish free.
