Preparations for next Saturday's Plant Sale

Tarvin's gardeners will be well-aware that one of the real village "events" – Tarvin's Plant Sale – takes place next Saturday, 11th May, between 10.00am and Mid-day.

However, such an event does not come about without considerable preparatory work – much of which has been going on over the last few weeks as our members, friends and supporters have been busily growing seedlings and dividing perennials, ready to be sold to raise money to help run our lovely woodland.

All contributions of plants are welcome and the next stage of the preparations comes on Thursday, 9th May, when, during the afternoon, plants can be delivered to Tarvin Methodist Church. Trustees will have cleared the Church and put up tables, ready to receive them between 2pm and 4pm. The sorting out and organising will then be done on Thursday evening and through Friday, ready for the sale to open at 10am on Saturday morning.

Of course, it may be that Thursday afternoon is inconvenient for some of our friends to deliver their plants. That is OK – as long as most of the plants arrive on Thursday, we can cope! Just give Jacqui & Charles Bradley a call (01829 741172) and we can make alternative arrangements that are more suitable.

Being able to afford to maintain Tarvin's own woodland is hugely important to the village. Do bring along plants for us to sell if you can – and be sure to come on Saturday morning to snap up lovely plants at really keen prices and enjoy the Chapel's coffee and bacon baps!
