The Parish Council has become aware that the doctors' practice that provides medical services in Tarvin (Doctor Campbell and Partners) maybe in discussion with the Kelsall practice to invest in a new 'Health Hub' in Tarporley. The combined facility would be able to provide a greater range of services, some of which now mean a trip to either the Countess or Leighton hospitals. There is also talk of the Tarporley Hospital considering relocation as well.

The news of this potential important change has come to the Parish Council via the chance discovery of a copy of the Tarporley News, a free news sheet. There is no information on that news sheet about how the proposals would affect the provision of medical services in Tarvin. However it would seem that discussions are still in their early stages and that more concrete news should be available in the near future.

With the recent increase of population in Tarvin and the possible new developments that might be in the pipeline, the problem of access to medical services has exercised both the Parish Council and the Neighbourhood Plan Steering Group. While it does appear that the local doctors, independent contractors to the NHS, are looking at how they might best serve the growing population throughout their practice areas, the implications for the Tarvin community are of great concern.

The Parish Council will seek for clarification on this issue and will keep the community informed as news becomes available.
