The instructors from Tarvin Flower Class had the honour of being invited to arrange flowers at Westminster Abbey for Richard Attenborough's Memorial service held recently.

They were also lucky enough to obtain tickets for the service on the following day and to see the celebrities who attended.

The flowers were provided but they had to take some foliage with them. The designs had to be specific shapes and sizes with viewing from all angles.

Certain areas of the floor tiles could not be walked upon and a conservation expert was cleaning them (no plastic mops and buckets there!)

Flowers are only displayed in the Abbey for specific events, not as an everyday occurrence. They were allowed to photograph their own flower display only and had to be accompanied by an official whilst taking it!
