This is it. However if you have been following the weather forecast you will know that high winds and rain have been forecast for this afternoon and evening. To avoid the problems high winds and rain will cause stallholders and visitors alike, and in the interests of public safety, we have decided to move the Market to St Andrew's Church as we believe that in the light of the anticipated weather an indoor Market will be to the benefit of everyone.

Father Christmas has been told of this change of plan and we are reliably informed that he is on his way and has promised to make a special trip to Tarvin arriving just after the opening of the Market. A very special Grotto is being prepared to welcome him and he is looking forward to meeting the children of Tarvin.

The event will be opened at 5.00 pm by Councillor Hugo Deynem, the Lord Mayor of Chester and one of Tarvin's Borough Councillors.

If you are short on ideas for Christmas presents, there will be stalls selling Christmas produce and crafts. You will also be able to test your skills or trust your luck on a variety of games including a chocolate tombola, always a favourite with the youngsters and possibly some adults! And please don't forget the raffle. Many local shops, pubs and restaurants will also be open and we do really appreciate their support.

Music is being provided by the Sue Reid Trio and the Church Youth Choir will also be singing.

Visit the Methodist Church to see 'Nativities from Around the World' and to watch the 'Puppet Nativity Shows' during the course of the evening. You will also be able to enjoy a sit down with a welcome cup of tea or coffee.

Adam Friend, the Vicar of St Andrew's, has been fantastically helpful and is very keen to welcome you all to the Church which is a very appropriate setting for a Christmas event. As usual the Tarvin community has rallied round to help at very short notice so please come and join us as the Market will provide entertainment for everyone and there will be a great community and family atmosphere.

Look forward to seeing you today at St Andrew's Church.
