Tarvin Carnival in 1990 took the Football World Cup as the theme for it floats competition.

The photographs show three of the floats.

Representing Brazil were the resident of Deansway who finish in second place behind the winners, Tarvin Toddlers, who also depicted Brazil

A third place was Friends of Tarvin School who picked The United Arab Emirates and Egypt.

The play group which was in joint third place chose the Republic of Ireland.

Ed: Click on the photographs to help you to identify the many children, and a few adults, in this trip down memory lane. Unfortunately, there is no picture available of the winners, Tarvin Toddlers, but the fact that the first prize was a trophy, accompanied by a barrel of beer donated by Croft Taxis, this is perhaps not too surprising!
