From the Tarvin History Group's scrapbooks for June 1989, Tarvin Methodist Church used a "cunning plan" to raise funds at the Church's Garden Party.

Anyone who stepped out of line at the Party could have found themselves locked in the stocks.

This was one of the fun-packed activities lined up for the crowds at the event held at Burton House Farm

Pictured under attack in the stocks is Robert Bradley.

In June 1991 villagers refused to be downhearted by what was described as "appalling weather" and hence helped to still raise £1,500 at the 20th Tarvin Carnival.
