Tarvin on the Tourist Map

Not many of us would think of Tarvin as a tourist spot but perhaps we should. At Tarvin Methodist Church we have had the pleasure of meeting Delana and David Howard Fairclough and their fellow travellers, Gil and Catherine from North Carolina.

This is their 4th visit to the area and for the last 3 years their holiday choice was to rent a cottage in Tarvin. They have enjoyed our village lifestyle and praised our friendliness and hospitality. They are impressed with our countryside and the ease of travelling to other parts of the country. Things which as residents we all take for granted so perhaps we will start to look around our locality with new eyes!

David is an accomplished musician and songwriter and his wife Delana a singer. We have been able to enjoy their musical talents as they took part in our service with David singing and playing the guitar to his own compositions and also a George Harrison favourite. He was then joined by his wife singing in harmony to give us a rendition of a beautiful and meaningful song.

We appreciated and enjoyed their time with us on this memorable visit, but one to be repeated for they are making plans to return next year in early December to experience life in Tarvin and all its activities in the run up to Christmas and also to celebrate their ruby wedding.
