The draw took place today, 29th December, for the eagerly awaited Tarvin Annual Quiz which will take place over two Fridays, January 13th and 20th, 2017 at Tarvin Community Centre!
Altogether 17 teams will be vying to win the coveted trophy and bragging rights locally!
Current holders, the Bowling Club (pictured receiving their trophy) start the defence of their title with a contest against the Quizzie Rascals, whilst there are 3 teams from Deansway!
Ed: "If you have never been to the Tarvin Quiz, then you simply turn up before 7.30 on the night, pay a £2 entry fee and buy as many raffle tickets as you can afford. Take advantage of the bar, and settle down to watching all the teams trying their best to answer a range of questions, think of University Challenge, Pointless and Only Connect rolled into one, but a lot easier, or so it seems to the audience! It's a great evening, so make sure you come along!"
The draw is as follows:
Village Quiz 2017 Week 1
7-30 Deansway Brains v Parish Council
7-45 Tennis Club v Jessop's
8-00 T.M.P. v Civic Trust
8-15 The Crescent v The Owens
8-45 Quizzie Rascals v Bowling Club
9-00 St. Andrew's Church v Deansway Hopefuls
9-15 Flower Club v Methodist Church

In June 1991 villagers refused to be downhearted by what was described as "appalling weather" and hence helped to still raise £1,500 at the 20th Tarvin Carnival. Despite what at time amounted to torrential rain the show went on with the then traditional parade of floats round the village, with the first prize going to the Tarvin Primary School. Again in those days, there was the...
