February seems to have gone by very quickly with lots of activities for our members to take part in.

We began the month with a walk by the newly formed Walking Group. 14 members took part starting from the President's house and walking the Millenium Walk before ending up back at the President's house for coffee and biscuits. Our Craft and Book Clubs also met during the month.

The Quiz team consisting of Alison Holden, Nancy Williams, Lynn Barry and Ann Lilly took part in the Cheshire Federation Quiz on February 20th which was held at the Tarvin Community Centre. They came 2nd and now go on to the Final in Comberbach in March.

The monthly meeting was held on 22nd February in the Edna Rose room at the TCC. After welcoming everyone, Irene Wilkinson, President, introduced the speaker for the evening, the Revd Canon Michael Burgess who likes to be known as Father Michael. He is one of the Rector's of the Parish Church of St Peter at Lymm and was made a Canon of Chester Cathedral in November 2010.

His talk was titled 'The Severn Deadly Sins' and to illustrate his talk he gave our member's a photocopy of a painting by Hieronymus Bosch which depicts the seven deadly sins Pride, Envy, Covetousness, Anger, Lust, Gluttony and Sloth. Continuing to explain by means of verse, laughter and cockney slang, it was an interesting talk which caused hilarity and much discussion among our members. After a questions and answer session Elizabeth Brereton gave the vote of thanks.

Our next meeting will be held on Wednesday March 29th at 7.30pm at TCC. Title for the evening is 'A tour around Speke Hall' by Anna Alexander.
