Maybe it was wishful thinking that we could get through 4 weeks of the Gnome Trail with all of the Gnomes intact and not vandalized or stolen.
Unfortunately on Friday night, some mindless individuals with no respect for people's property, families enjoyment and the fact that they have upset young children, took it upon themselves to steal one of the gnome displays from Crossfields, and leave it smashed in the Woodland.
It's a great shame that such a positive community event can be affected by this childish act. We can only hope that anyone who has knowledge of the perpetrators does the right thing and encourages them to replace it.
