What we do
We are a fun and lively club suitable for both the mature players and total beginners. We play using the British Mah-jongg Association rules with some extra enhancements and use the International scoring system white to black belt.
Mah-Jongg

Originally a Chinese game now played worldwide. A cross between bridge and rummy. A game of suits using winds and dragons played with tiles. Excellent for stimulating the brain.

We are a group of enthusiasts who are learning to play the game of Mahjong in a friendly, sociable environment. There is an admission fee of £3.00, and subscriptions are available.

Mahjong is a game that consists of 148 tiles, built as a wall from which up to 4 players pick tiles to create "hands" (including Knitting Pairs, Hachi Ban, and many others) to achieve Mahjong.

Mahjong has been played since well before the 1800s and in the 1920s Britain went crazy and divided the country between those who played British Mahjong and those who played American Mahjongg, however by the end of the 1920s the British Mahjong remained the most popular game and anyone who had money owned a British Mahjong set.
