REPORT OF SEPTEMBER MEETING

Not one demonstrator, but two came to entertain us at our recent meeting.

The title for the evening was "The Gift of Flowers" and Clare and Maggie gave us an attractive show. They are both keen gardeners and used many of their own flowers in the 5 designs.
Design 1 was arranged in a champagne bucket by Clare. It contained a bottle of wine and frothy flowers and foliage to represent bubbles.Maggy put her skills to design 2 and produced a table design in lovely shades of peach, coffee and deep burgundy.

Into the garden for the third arrangement. Clare used gladioli and many pink and mauve garden flowers in a parallel design with an innovative background frame to resemble a fence and cause a wow.

A door wreath was chosen by Maggy for design 4. It was very attractive and contained fruit and flowers in all shades.Clare produced the final design of yellow and white flowers in a picnic basket which again looked most attractive.

Merryn, our chair, had once again been baking so we all enjoyed her cake whilst we chatted to friends.

The forthcoming October meeting should be a very amusing evening. We welcome back Kate Russell with the title "A Touch of the Exquisite" 7-30pm on 8th October at the Community Centre. Visitors are welcome.
