Tarvin's own Renby Limited brings Chester Zoo's Giant-Size Critters to life

Following the success of the mist special effects at the "Dinosaurs Bite Back" exhibition at Chester Zoo in 2012; Tarvin based company, Renby Limited, were again asked to help with special effects at Chester Zoo this summer.
The anamatronic creatures in this year's special exhibition "Mind-bogglingly Big BUGS!" are stunningly realistic. The creators have included intricate features to give visitors a tremendously detailed view of the animals, normally visible only with a microscope.

The textures on the vast and strangely beautiful scorpions' shell are astonishing! Hairs on the legs, and body of the Mexican Red-Knee Tarantula, make this a realistic and impressive display.

The fog rising beneath The Tarantula, is superbly atmospheric. Extra fine mist created by the Renby MicronFogTM system brings the creatures to life; providing a tropical feel to the exhibits. Originally designed to reduce dust in industrial applications such as minerals processing and recycling plants, MicronFogTM has proved to be equally useful as a special effect in landscaping. On hot days, zoo visitors have also welcomed its gentle cooling effects.
The systems are low energy systems, and many of Renby's other products are used for industrial scale recycling and energy from waste projects. Renby's products are already helping to create a better world for future generations, as well as helping the Zoo to educate people about animals and the environment.
This beautifully designed exhibit has allowed visitors a great opportunity to appreciate the more subtle features of insects and arachnids in giant size. It is another great achievement for Chester Zoo in its quest to educate visitors about animals, great and small.
The "Mind-bogglingly big BUGS!" exhibit will be on show until November 3rd 2013.
