Leisure Facilities for over 11-year-olds on Gladman Church St Development

Looking at the latest Gladman proposal, there is a proposal for an U9/U10 football pitch (11) and a playspace (9). No. 8 is for drainage attenuation.

Where are the facilities for the aged 11+??. These are much needed and highlighted as inadequate in the Tarvin neighbourhood plan.

The original Gladman proposal (2017) had a multi-use games area, pavilion and skatepark, where the current proposal shows a football pitch.

Money under Section 106 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 was specifically earmarked for a BMX track and skate park under the Saxon Heath development plans. This sadly never happened and we haven't been able to find land to build one since.

This is a golden opportunity to ensure that we get the facilities right for our young people. I'm all for a football pitch, but needs to be big enough?? This does not offer free play opportunities, and not everyone plays football! Can we ask that the skatepark is also included rather than a 'playspace'? Tarvin has plenty of play areas for the under-11s.

Please, please make your views known via the link above. Even better, please ask your young people what they would like and ask them to send their views.

Please also make your views known to Tarvin Parish Council, especially when (if) the planning application has been published and will be considered by the Parish Council.
