There is £30,500 available

When Taylor Wimpey's Saxon Heath housing development was agreed, one of the community schemes which was to be part-financed by the company was a skateboard park.
No land has been identified as being suitable for this project, so the PC hopes that, with the agreement of Taylor Wimpey and Cheshire West and Chester Council, an alternative community infrastructure project can be identified and paid for using the money which has been set aside.

So far, four projects have been identified, each of which have their pros and cons. They are:

  • improving the look of the High Street and Church Street by, for example, providing planters and more benches;
  • buying land in the Green Belt to extend the Community Woodland northwards along the A51 as far as Tarvin roundabout;
  • upgrading the cinder track between Tarporley Road and Cross Lanes to provide a safe cycle route;
  • replacing the floodlights on the bowling green, and lighting the footpath across the King George Playing Field

These proposals will be looked at in more detail at the next PC meeting. What do you think about them? Are there others which should be considered?
