On Friday November 12th at 7.30pm there will be a string quartet playing at the Community Centre.
But this is no ordinary string quartet! If you are thinking dinner suits, delicate Bach melodies and a rather solemn air, you could not be more mistaken.
Bowjangles is a quartet of four very talented musicians who create wonderful physical theatre, who dance and sing and tell stories, while playing their instruments all the time – yes, even the cello!
They are bringing their new show, Dracula in Space, to Tarvin as part of their autumn touring programme.
In 2018 this group won the Spirit of the Fringe award at the Edinburgh Festival and in 2019 they played at the Soho Theatre New York. In 2020 they were nominated for the "Best Performance" award by the national Rural Touring organisation. These are just some of the awards they have received in the 12 years since they got together.
Vice-Chair Sue Hardacre said "We are delighted to be able to offer such a different and unique musical treat to Tarvin. The group is Esme on cello, Bertie on viola with Ollie and Mitch on violins and they will make you smile and make you laugh and totally impress you with their precise professional playing. We have never had anything like this in the Community Centre before".
Tickets are only £10 per person with a concession for younger people. At the moment they are only available online at www.ticketsource.co.uk/tarvincommunitycentre but they will be in the Post Office very soon and will also be available on the door.
