At the next Film Night on Friday September 27th, customers of both the Family and Feature films will be offered the option of paying for their tickets by card, (credit/debit), or mobile device, such as Apple Pay. Also, for the first time, tickets will ONLY be available on the door – no tickets will be on sale at the Post Office.

Vice-Chair Sue Hardacre says "We are aware that many more people are using their cards in preference to using cash even for quite small amounts and. as an organisation. we do try to keep up with customer's needs. If we can establish enough demand for the service, we will extend it to more of our ticketed performances and for the bar. Of course, cash will still be accepted if customers prefer".

The system is secure and does not store card details, neither will the Community Centre have any access to these. Payments are made instantly, reducing the need to handle cash which can, on busy film nights, amount to several hundreds of pounds. No receipts will be printed but they can be sent via email or text if required.
However, there is a small settlement fee and some investment in technology, so the Committee needs to be certain that the demand is there.

The Film Nights have been a great success since they started in 2012 – wow, 7 years of cinema at TCC! – and have become a wonderful way of bringing people across the threshold. As the Community Centre uses a proper film distributor, using cinema size screen and sound, films are available soon after general release, (depending on distributor's release of the licence) and certainly well before they are available for home viewing on DVD.
The films for September are Angry Birds 2 (U) and Yesterday (12A). Prices remain the same, £3 for a child/£4 for an adult for the Family Film and £5 for the Feature film.
