Following on from our publicity about our new PCSO, James Hannath, in an article in January 18th, he has kindly responded with details of his backstory in the Cheshire Police as follows:-

"I began with Cheshire Police in January 2009, after my initial training I soon moved over to Chester City Centre.

I covered a range of duties with focused patrols, retail crime, anti-social behaviour, attending incidents, gaining intelligence, tutoring other PCSOs and community engagement.

Part of the engagement work was gaining funding to put towards community projects like crime prevention, working with schools and the Junior Safety Officers, vulnerable people with disabilities, dementia, church groups, those with complexed needs working in partnership with agencies to reach the best outcome and of course community events!

I hope that this experience will offer community support in the Tarvin, Kelsall and Delamere to problem solve and make the community feel safer.

It is a huge beat area, but I hope to be out on foot patrol where possible to meet the locals! I have already had a warm and supportive welcome from many over week one.

Residents Voice survey helps us understand what, where, when the demand is around your community and prioritise and structure patrol plans which you can find on the Cheshire Police website.

If you would rather speak to me in person, then there will be drop-in Police Surgeries in the near future over the locations and you can follow Tarvin and Kelsall Police on Facebook or drop me an email on James.Hannath@cheshire.police.uk but please always use 101 or the online reporting system on our website to report incidents or 999 if an emergency."
