Once again a very successful and sociable event was held at Tarvin Methodist Church on Thursday 9th May when a traditional afternoon tea was served accompanied by music and poetry from the Rev David Speed and his wife Anne.

With many assorted finger sandwiches and a splendid array of cakes, this afternoon tea was of a standard that would have been hard to find at any top class restaurant. All served on delicate china from a bygone age it gave an air of gentility which was enjoyed by all ages from 1 to 90. All the cakes and sandwiches were home made by the members of the church and all served with a good cup of tea.

Everyone enjoyed this new venture and rated it a success and one worth repeating so if you missed this one do look out for the next!

Our grateful thanks to the Rev David and Anne for entertaining us so well with poetry and favourite songs in which we were able to join with enthusiasm, especially for the final song which was "You'll Never Walk Alone"! very apt for several reasons.
