The Majority of High School aged students in Tarvin go to Tarporley High School enrolling Year seven students from many of the rural villages in the area such as Tarvin, Kelsall, Duddon, Tarporley, Delamere, Utkinton, Huxley and Barrow primary schools.
Founded in 1958, as Tarporley County Secondary School with a three form entry. Originally a Secondary Modern, Tarporley High School is now an Academy High School and has been educating young people in Tarporley and the surrounding rural villages for over 60 years. With over 1,500 students now on roll it is generally oversubscribed. It is now a seven form entry school.
It has a 6th-form block which was extended and refurbished during 2005, and 2011 to provide some of the best facilities for 6th formers in this part of Cheshire. With two dedicated 6th-form teaching spaces, a 6th-form study resource area and Common Room.
