Ashton Hayes Theatre Club's Latest Production.

Ashton Hayes Theatre Club have been concerned, as have the Community Centre, about the number of attendees at some of their productions. For those who did not see "Last Tango & Panto in Tarvin", I can tell you that you missed a treat.

Directed by Malcolm Barker, and written by David Tristam, the play was a combination of two one act plays recounting the problems experienced by a village Dramatic Society that had fallen on hard times due to lack of support, and their attempts to vamp up the productions to encourage more people to attend.
The cast of four local actors, Tina Wyatt, David Rogerson, Kelly White and Stuart McNeil had their audience on Friday evening literally "rolling in the aisles" with their excellent timing extracting belly laugh after belly laugh. All of them portrayed their characters excellently.

Tina White as the somewhat pompous "know all", reminiscent of "Mrs Bouquet", Bernard Rogerson as the reluctant scenery builder turned actor, Kelly White as the hard done by treasurer, who could neither sing nor act, and Stuart McNeil as the harassed Director attempting to bring some sort of order out of chaos.

If the reaction from the audience was anything to go by Ashton Hayes Theatre Club should have no difficulty in getting "bums on seats" for any future productions. Congratulations to all concerned!
