This example is from February 1990 when a 22-ton lorry overturned on the Tarvin/Tarporley roundabout, spilling fabric conditioner of all things onto the busy junction and creating traffic chaos for several hours. Three fire engines attended while a chemical incident unit and water board officials carried out the clean up operation. The tanker ended up lying on its side on the footpath near Grosvenor Road. Fortunately no pedestrians were injured but the driver required treatment at the Countess of Chester for head and back injuries.
