Full litter & dog bins

full bin

As many are likely to have noticed there have been significant problems throughout the Parish with litter and dog bins not being emptied by Cheshire West and Chester Council, particularly during the last couple of weeks.
Those who have tried to report the problem to CWaC will probably have been further frustrated by the endless waiting on the phone to get through to speak to someone or by their website which does not appear to have been particularly reliable.

Interesting that if you report the issue of a full bin online you will see a message near to the reference number that you are given which says "The reported bin will be emptied by the end of the next working day" You will then receive an e-mail which includes "It will be investigated and appropriate action will be taken quickly if it is an emergency, otherwise it will be completed as soon as possible."
If nothing happens, which is often the case, and you phone for an update you are likely to be told that they aim to look at the problem within five working days.

Thankfully most of the bins are now being emptied and CWaC have promised (in writing) that there will be a continued significant improvement over the coming weeks.
As I write (Tuesday afternoon) the only outstanding issues that I am aware of are the Playing Field (bins to be emptied on Thursday morning), by the Parish Rooms and the Green at Oscroft (due to be emptied on Friday).
