Are you struggling to find things to do after the summer holidays? 6 weeks off trying to entertain children can be tough. Maybe your on a budget and spending hundreds of pounds on a family day out just ins't what you need? Then this is the article for you. Local parks, educational fun or maybe something a bit more adventurous.

Castle park
castle park is situated in Frodsham and some people in Tarvin had never heard about it. This historic park is 9 hectares of green flag awarded grounds with a play area, two large green areas for outdoor activities or sporting games, wooded areas, two sand areas (so remember the buckets and spades) and recreational leisure facilities such as: bowling green, tennis courts. On site toilets are available, its wheelchair and pushchair friendly, on site cafe and to top it all off free parking.

Manley Mere
Manley mere might be known for there muddy adventure trail but now they are getting bigger and better with there new Aqua park. Do you enjoy the water? Always fancied trying out total wipe out for yourself? Then get yourself down there. They now have a special offer on 25th September -8th October at £15 for 50 minutes. Don't have a wetsuit? Its included in the price.

Chester Treasure Trail
This circular trail takes roughly two hours to complete and is two miles long. Ages from 6+ anyone can enjoy, no children necessary and the best bit its only £7 with a chance to win real treasure as they draw a £100 raffle prize every month with clues available to be sent to your phone no clue is unsolvable.

Lion Salt Works
One of Cheshire's award winning museums in Norwich usually costing around £10 for a parent and child entry they are now hosting absolutely free! Fun Pre-school sessions (2 to 4 years) parents/careers can even join in with younger siblings welcome. The sessions have been designed to allow your child to investigate, explore and learn though fun interactive activities. Fun, free and educational need I say more?.
On site there is a shop, cafe, free parking, access to a butterfly garden and an industrial themed play area. These sessions are only running from September 14th – October 19th.

Wildlife Connections Festival
The festival takes place by the chester zoo with free parking and free entry. On September 15th – September 17th running from 8:00 till 10:00. Activities include making clay hedgehogs, bird feeders and bug homes that you can take home and put in your garden. There is a bee bonanza game to take part in and a hedgehog maze.


Hopefully there is something here everyone can enjoy and with 3 out 5 activities free, lets face it when its free its better?
