The eleven WIs that make up the FOREST GROUP were treated to a fabulous evening on Monday, 14th May at Tarporley Community Centre.

Jean martyn

Our guest was Jean Martyn, a member of Brewood WI in Staffordshire and an international organist/pianist who entertained us with a variety of styles of music. including jazz, popular, boogie-woogie, classical, and tunes from the musicals.
These were interspersed with entertaining tales from her life as a child prodigy, music teacher, fund raiser, performer, actress, and a finalist on Britain's Got Talent.
She also had stories of the people she has met from royalty to Ant & Dec — a lady bursting with talent, joy and a very big smile.
Our competition was a Musical Inspired Flower Arrangement, entries were both colourful and imaginative.
First prize went to Kelsall which Jean judged to be her favourite and Little Budworth won the Members' Vote.
