Residents and road users in and around Tarvin are being advised of significant gas works planned for the A51 Tarvin Road near Littleton, Chester, during the school summer holidays.
Cadent Gas will be carrying out major works on this stretch of road, and two-way traffic signals will be in operation throughout the scheme. The works are expected to cause considerable disruption to vehicle movement in the area, with potential knock-on effects for the surrounding road network.
Cheshire West and Chester Council's Network Management team has been in contact with local ward councillors, including Tarvin and Kelsall Ward Councillor Ted Lush, to provide advance notice of the scheme. A meeting has been arranged between council officers and Cadent Gas to allow councillors and other interested parties to hear a full presentation of the works and to raise any concerns or questions about the impact on local roads and residents.
The timing of the works during the school summer holidays has been noted, though the use of two-way traffic signals on this busy A-road is still likely to cause significant delays, particularly during peak travel times.
Residents are encouraged to plan their journeys accordingly and to allow extra time when travelling along or near the A51 Tarvin Road corridor during the works. Further details about the scheme are expected to be made available once the council and Cadent Gas have held their discussions.
TarvinOnline will provide further updates as more information becomes available. In the meantime, any highways concerns can be reported via the Cheshire West and Chester Council website.
