At the recent Parish Council Meeting, the Council reviewed 7 applications for grants, six of which were eligible for assistance. Using the criteria for grants which the PC had agreed some time ago, the following amounts were agreed:
Tarvin Community Woodland Trust £1,000
Tarvin Community Centre £1,200
Tarvin Summer Fete, 10 June 2017 £300
Christmas Market, 2 December 2017 £150
Ashton Hayes and Tarvin Flower Club £150
2nd Tarvin Brownies £100

This gives a total of £2,900 for these organisations to be paid from PC Funds

The one ineligible application was for two bike shelters at Tarvin Primary School. The PC agreed to consider this later in the year. If agreed it would be funded from New Homes Bonus money.

The PC first needs to know if the New Homes Bonus money currently set aside to provide flashing speed warning signs in Oscroft and on Tarporley Road in Tarvin will be needed. The PC will therefore ask Cheshire West and Chester Council (CWaC) to carry out speed surveys to see if the current speed limits are being observed. If the speed limits are not being observed then the PC has agreed to go ahead with the flashing speed warning signs

There will be the Annual Parish meeting next Thursday (further details to follow) where you can raise any questions about the Council's actions during the past year as well as hearing about the progress of several village organisations
