The recent Parish Council meeting received an update on efforts to assess the feasibility of using the Taylor Wimpey S106 monies as part funding for a skateboard park in the village. TarvinOnline has been following this story with interest in recent weeks.

Despite the best efforts of members of the community and the Council, the insurmountable obstacle of the lack of a suitable site remains. Without securing a site, there is no realistic prospect of taking the proposal forward at this point in time. The Council therefore agreed to continue to pursue other opportunities to use the monies primarily for the benefit of young persons in the village. A proposal for a 'trim trail' around the perimeter of the King George V Playing Field and refurbishments for the Scout and Guide Movement seem to offer the most realistic and deliverable options which achieve that aim. Council will seek to come to a decision on the matter at their June meeting.
