Strimmer v's Hedgehogs – reminder

A hedgehog's spine is no match for a garden strimmer

A little reminder as we all tidy our gardens this Autumn:

Hedgehogs naturally curl into a ball to protect themselves, but their spines are no match for garden equipment like trimmers and mowers.

As they are still quite active, please check for hedgehogs in long grass, brush, piles of leaves etc before using strimmers etc.

Also, if you have been preparing a bonfire, please check for hedgehogs before lighting it if the pie has been standing for a day or two as a hedgehog may have decided that a lovely pile of branches and leaves is prime real estate!
