Tarvin AFC U15's Blues Football Team would like to invite the village of Tarvin to their Victory Parade this coming Saturday 18th May, between 3-5pm.
The boys and their families will be boarding their Open Top Bus, complete with resident DJ (and Assistant Team Coach) Matt Hughes, and completing loops of Tarvin, together with a pit stop at the George and Dragon Pub. They are hoping the Tarvin community will line the route and cheer them on.
For the first time in their 11 years together, they have won their league, in fact it's the first time they have ever won anything!!
Most of these boys have been playing together since they were 4 years old, and their coach throughout this time, Phil Parr told Tarvin Online:
"I remember the cold winter mornings back in 2013, when a group of four year old boys and girls started training with me and a group of other dad's on Tarvin Rec. They didn't really know what football was all about back then, they were just happy to be out, having fun with their friends. Fast-forward 11 years, most of the boys are now taller, stronger and definitely better at football than me.
This is real heartwarming story of local community and family. These boys, with the support of their brilliant families, have stuck together through thick and thin, winning and losing, COVID and now the appearance of girlfriends. Myself and Matt are so proud to have coached them and be part of their amazing story this year. They have been nothing short of brilliant this season, playing for one another, supporting each other and eventually winning the league.
I have to also to mention the Blues family, the "team behind the team". None of this is possible without the unwavering support, commitment and constant fun and banter of the parents, siblings and extended families.
We really hope to see as many Tarvin residents joining our celebration by lining the streets this coming Saturday afternoon, thank you."
