Donation to Tarporley War Hospital Scan_20180807 (2)

A SLAVE auction in the summer of 1991 by lower sixth formers at Tarporley High School raised £340. Half of this was given to Tarporley Hospital.

The photograph shows Lesley Wraith, Paul Done and Ian Sheen, all of Tarvin, handing the money over to hospital representatives Dr Sandy Campbell and Sister Janet Featherstone.

Unlike many or our neighbouring villages, Tarvin has had no maps on display of our historic village centre Conservation Area. Tarvin Civic Trust thought that posting a display somewhere in the village centre might fit the bill. We considered display boards of all shapes and sizes but where would we put them?
