A public spirited local resident, Kerr Parr, contacted TOL to tell us about a couple of traffic monitoring boxes that had cropped up on lamp posts in Tarvin. The two that have so far been identified are outside the primary school on Heath Drive and on Crossfields as shown in the accompanying photographs. Are these the only ones or has anyone seen any in other areas of Tarvin?
There appearance apparently has lead to concerns amongst some Crossfield residents that they might have something to do with a proposal to build houses behind Crossfields/Townfield Lane. An e-mail to CWAC Highways Department received a very prompt response and a reassurance that the Monitors had been installed by CWAC to measure speeds for a 20 mph project. The counters are expected to be up for a week and then the data collected will be used by the Road Safety Engineers against certain criteria to assess if the speed limit should be changed.
