The PC commented on Cheshire West and Chester Council (CWaC)'s proposals for 20 mph speed limits in the village as follows:
"The PC, while accepting the application of the criteria applied by the Borough Council, believes that the only 20 mph speed limits that should be applied are outside the primary school on Heath Drive and along Lower High Street to the junction with the A54, where previous requests for a 20 mph limit have been made and turned down.
It has reached this conclusion partly because of the cost of universal application, but also because the results that have been produced, the PC believes, show anomalies that would confuse the public e.g. for Hockenhull Lane and Tarporley Road"
However, the PC is very concerned that the CWaC consultation may be a sham and that the decision to impose the 20 mph limits seems to have been taken
