Election for the parish council will take place on Thursday, 2 May. Eleven councillors will need to be elected to Tarvin Parish Council. Existing councillors can be re-elected but not all are likely to be standing again. The PC would like as many candidates as possible to put their names forward for election, as new faces and new ideas are vital for a vibrant community.

If you are interested in how your village and surrounding area are looked after and develop, why not consider standing for election? The position is voluntary and takes up as much time as you want to give. The minimum commitment is to attend the monthly PC meeting, held on a Monday evening. Councillors are also usually members of committees and working groups. Councillors represent the views of parish residents to the PC and through it to the Borough Council.

If you want to find out more, come along to the PC's next meeting on Monday 25 February at 7.15 pm in the Community Centre. Listen to what goes on and see if it is something you would enjoy being part of. Alternatively, contact any of the existing councillors to find out what is involved. You can also contact the Parish Clerk at clerk@tarvinparishcouncil.org.uk for more information.
