2024-25 Parish Precept

Each year, the Parish Council (PC) makes a request, known as the Parish Precept, to Cheshire West and Chester Council in order to support its activities for the next twelve months.

The PC considered the budget for 2024/25 at its January meeting. The new Band D rate from 1st April 2024 will be £45.00, up from £41.71 in 2023/24, an increase of 7.9%. The PC regrets this above inflation increase. It is because the budget is so low tiny changes in spending result in a large percentage change. The main reasons for the increase are, the forecast cost of insurance, the need to increase general reserves to meet the cost of inflation greater than predicted in the budget estimates and unforeseen events not covered by the provisions that the PC already make.
