60 Years for Betty and Neville!

Betty and Nevil Moore, parents to 3 children and grandparents to 9. Both born in Chester literally a street apart. Nevil's parents moved to Eastham when he was very young so they didn't meet until years later.. They were married on 6th June 1962 (D Day anniversary) at George Street methodist chapel in Chester, with a reception at Mollington Banastre (original invoice attached... £65!) shortly after, they moved to their forever home in HockenhullLane Tarvin, where they live today. Neville worked as a skilled fitter for Shell and Vauxhall Motors (30+ years) until retiring in 1999. Betty worked at Tarvin school as a school dinner lady whilst all three children attended and then worked at the local Lighfoots shop for several years before working in Boots, Chester and then became a driving instructor before retiring. They are both very active, Neville can often be found up a ladder or with his head buried in a new DIY project while Betty loves gardening, reading, knitting and generally keeping Neville full of his favourite tipple, tea!

They were dedicated caravaners for over 40 years and the whole family enjoyed travelling up and down the Uk for some fantastic holidays each year. For over 10 years during the 80s Dad was heavily involved in the production of all scenery sets and props for the Tarvin theatre group and his creations regularly received great write ups in the local news, Betty was working away just as hard, stitching together huge new scenery backdrops in our dining room. Every day Betty and Neville will be seen up and down either Grogans Walk or Tarvin Rec with their little Yorkie! Every day also involves a trip into the village as they keenly support the local shops, plus Neville enjoys a cuppa and a gossip at the chapel while Betty goes shopping! They both regularly visit old friends in residential homes and really do go out of their way to keep in touch with people, often they are the only visitors people get to see.

They will be celebrating their special anniversary over a few different days with family and friends but all will involve a meal at a favourite restaurant and no doubt a few glasses of bubbly!

All of their Children, grandchildren, friends and family would just like to say a huge big well done for 60 years of marriage and Thankyou for everything you've done, and still do for people. You're both loved very much
