The number of e-mails we receive varies on a day to day basis and so spotting a problem is not straight forward. Alarm bells, however, started ringing when someone questioned why we had not published their article and our investigation failed to discover their original e-mail.
Even though it is the weekend, our I/T specialist got to work straight away and discovered that a that a couple of messages in the pipeline had become corrupted and this was preventing subsequent emails getting through. The system has now been rectified.
