An Evening with Bernie Broad

Pam Oatley, a member of Pryors Hayes Golf Club for 15 years, is the Lady Captain for 2022. The captain traditionally chooses a charity that they will support throughout year and Pam's chosen charity is The George Heath Foundation. Set up to celebrate George, who died at the age of 20, the Charity primarily supports local individuals and organisations operating in Tarvin and surrounding villages.

Pam's first charity event will be "An Evening with Bernie Broad" at Pryors Hayes Golf Club on 24th May. Bernie, a former major in the Grenadier Guards who lost both legs below the knees in an explosion in Afghanistan in 2009, was named by Prince Harry as captain of the UK team at the Invictus Games held in Toronto in 2017.

Bernie will not be a stranger to Pryors Hayes having captained a Battle Back Golf Team of rehabilitating injured service personnel in a golf competition with the club when Pam's husband, John, was Men's Captain in 2016. However, Bernie's entertaining presentation is expected to cover the wide range of his experience and should, therefore, be of interest to people other than just golfers.
