After almost 10 years of garden visits taking place in June our programme secretary made her first mistake with the weather. We had to delay, by a week, our visit to Brooklands in Mouldsworth.
The second attempt proved to be very successful with dry weather and sunshine. We were shown around the garden and told about its history. We asked questions about the plants and trees and viewed the hens that provided the eggs for the cakes we would enjoy later. Sitting in the sun enjoying the refreshments made us feel it was summer. Our hosts were very attentive and we all enjoyed an excellent evening.
The July meeting will be our A.G.M. As well as the business part of the meeting there will be a short plant identification quiz and a demonstration and workshop using phormium leaves .The refreshments will be worth coming for – scones with Clotton clotted cream and strawberry jam.
This will be on Wednesday 10th July at 7-30pm in the Edna Rose room at the community centre.
