We had a beautiful summers evening for 32 of us to visit Long Acre garden in Bunbury on June 14th. Not only does our programme secretary find lovely interesting gardens for us to see, she also plans good weather too.
The roses in the garden looked and smelled fantastic and there were unusual trees to see. The garden was quite rambling with small seating areas and some sculpture. We had tea/ coffee with very good cake with lots of cream and strawberries and raspberries, yummy.
This garden is part of the National Garden Scheme and has 2 open days as well as visits by appointment. You will probably have to wait until 2018 to sample it's delights as it closes this year at the end of June -- but well worth a visit.
Our next meeting will be on 12th July and will be the A.G.M. with a short demonstration to follow.
