The Ashton Heyes and Tarvin Flower Club enjoyed a delightful garden visit to "The Old Parsonage" in June 2025. With perfect weather, members were treated to a warm welcome from the hosts, who shared intriguing insights into the history of the church and the house, designed by notable Cheshire architect John Douglas.
The garden, which was predominantly a grassy field when the owners arrived nearly two decades ago, has been transformed into a vibrant landscape filled with surprises. As members explored the sloping terrain, they encountered wide grassy paths, a small stream, a pond, and various paved areas adorned with striking pots. The borders were flourishing with colourful plants alongside some shrubs, creating a picturesque setting.
Due to the captivating beauty of the garden and the pleasant sunshine, few photographs were taken as members immersed themselves in the experience. The evening concluded with refreshments, including drinks and delightful cakes.
Looking ahead, the next meeting is scheduled for July 9th, featuring a demonstration by Jane Tully on "Inspired by Ceramics." Visitors are welcome to join at the Edna Rose room in the Community Centre at 7:30 pm.
