Thanks to Tarvin community centre and the safety measures put into place our flower class was able to return in September. It would have been very sad if a group that has been meeting for nearly 30 years should have had to stop. We have felt very safe with masks and distancing.
We have had no teacher and no refreshment break but we have all enjoyed 9 weeks of friendship and flowers.
When we have no class we just stick flowers in a vase but we have interpreted topics such as, an arrangement using no floral foam, foliage and berries, a treasured item, a song, book or film title, Halloween and this week was bonfire.
The treasured item week was particularly interesting as we all incorporated our item into our design and then told the group about its history. On another week we were taken out of our comfort zone by doing an arrangement in someone else's container.
We sadly departed today wishing each other a good Christmas and hoping that we can meet again in early 2021.
